Artist Statement
For over 35 years, I have lived and breathed art, not as a career, but as a calling. Art has been my compass, my shelter, my rebellion. And jewellery, my most intimate form of storytelling.
Every piece I craft holds a piece of a journey:
The beauty in pain.
The poetry in solitude.
The strength in softness.
The wildness of dreams that refuse to die.
If you see yourself in my creations, it's because they were made with you in mind—with all the love, truth, and magic I carry inside me.
My jewellery travels through time: from Medieval and Game of Thrones to Space, so innovative, so unique, so imposing. Sculptural forms that embrace the body, delicate finishings, dramatic colour combinations between metals and stones. Jewellery that comes from another era... to fascinate, seduce.
Artist CV & Awards
Mrs. Elsa Sarantidou was born in Athens, where she completed her schooling. She then moved to England to study jewellery, ceramics, sculpture, and stained glass at Kensington and Chelsea College.
She continued her education in design, jewellery design, and silversmithing at London Guildhall University, where she studied under renowned professors such as Bob Risch, Joel Degen, and Bryan Marshall. She also took design courses at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art in Kensington, attended Le Arti Orafe (a prestigious jewellery school in Florence), and studied micromosaic techniques in metal with Stefano Marchetti.
A valuable part of her journey in the field of jewellery was her apprenticeship with Joel Degen, a designer who had a significant influence on Elsa’s technique and the distinctive style she later developed.
Elsa Sarantidou was awarded First Prize at Beautiful People Live Art for her ring “Blossoms.” She also received a Bronze Award in the Jewellery Oscars – Craftsmanship and Design Awards (GCDC Awards) in the category of 3D Design and Technological Innovation.
